Reiki for Stress Management

reiki-for-stress-management

In addition to dramatically helping with specific physical problems and illnesses,  Reiki  also heals on an emotional level to ensure that any physical problems caused by stress and emotional trauma do not return.  Reiki also helps your body to function at optimum levels, reducing the risk of developing illnesses.

Reiki enables you to be more of a detached outsider looking in on your life with a ‘fresh’, objective perspective rather than being trapped inside your life with no way out.  It can help you to feel at peace with yourself, be kind to yourself and do what is ‘right’ for you rather than setting unachievable goals for yourself and having unrealistic expectations.

Reiki can help you gain  focus and clarity, as well as helping you to trust your intuition.  This is not to say that after a Reiki Treatment, you will never feel stressed again, because life always presents us with difficult situations, but you will be able to handle them in a much healthier way.  This will create within you a higher, more universal outlook that will make life much more manageable giving you a greater sense of direction and understanding of why you are here along with an inner peace and a real sense of happiness.

An introduction to Reiki, and Reiki Massage

Reiki (Ray-key) is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.  It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.  If one’s “life force energy” is low, that we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei, which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power”, and Ki, which is “life force energy”.  So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”

An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki Class.  This ability is passed on during an “attunement” given by a Reiki Master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of “life force energy” to improve one’s health and enhance the quality of life.

While Reiki is Spiritual in nature, it is not a religion.  It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki.  In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe it or not.

What is a Reiki Massage?

Reiki is not massage, but it can be combined with massage for Reiki healing.  Reiki and massage are two separate things.  Many times massage therapists who are trained in Reiki will combine the two practices for optimal results in therapy.  Registered therapists often take Reiki classes in order to learn how to use the energy to promote Spiritual well being as well as physical well-being in their treatments.

The usual treatment Reiki massage begins in the legs and works it way through the seven different Chakras.  The hand placements coincide with the seven major chakras or energy centers of the physical body.  Reiki Massage has been used to help clients manage pain and increase their quality of living.

Reiki is used to treat conditions such as muscle pain, tension, stress, injury healing, pain management and over 60 other medical aliments.

Reiki treatments are said to be one hundred percent safe; they do not incur any side affect or injuries.  There are sensations that are felt, but they are different for different people.  Some people experience a sensation of warmth or tingling.  Others experience a spirit of relaxation and balance.
