Dr. Taryn Deering - Naturopathic Doctor

Naturopathic Medicine

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2003 from Dalhousie University, Taryn earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the four year professional program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto.

In 2005 Taryn traveled to Thailand for a month long yoga intensive. Her yoga practice combined with a background in athletic training and as a strength and conditioning coach helps Taryn not only to treat sports injuries but also to use movement to heal. In 2011 Taryn became certified to lead Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) which is a set of exercises designed to release deeply held physical tension and reduce stress, thereby reducing pain, anxiety, and other symptoms associated with stress.

Taryn has a family practice, treating people of all ages with a variety of concerns such as fatigue, stress, gastrointestinal disturbances, and hormone imbalances. Taryn has additional training in Environmental Medicine (EM), having completed Dr. Walter Crinnion’s post-graduate EM training for physicians.

Taryn is a licensed naturopathic doctor registered through the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy – Naturopathy (BDDT-N) and is a member of both the Nova Scotia Association of Naturopathic Doctors (NSAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
